What Does This Filter Reduce?

The PWF-1 is certified to NSF/ANSI Standards 42, 53 and 401. The standards cover different things:

How to Install the Filter

1. Find the filter compartment. Your manual shows the exact location for your model.

2. Remove the old filter. Twist to unlock, then pull straight out. Keep a towel handy for small drips.

3. Unpack the new filter and remove any protective caps.

4. Insert and twist until it locks firmly into place.

5. Flush the system. Run water through the dispenser as your manual directs until it runs clear. Some sputtering is normal.

6. Reset the indicator. Press and hold the water filter or reset button for about 3 seconds, or as your model's manual says.

7. Check for leaks around the filter.

Many manuals also suggest discarding the first batch of ice.

When Should You Replace the Filter?

Replace the PWF-1 every 6 months or 200 gallons, whichever comes first. Replace it sooner if:

• Water flow slows noticeably

• Taste or odor returns
