Great price, genuine LG filter. I will definitely recommend this company and I will definitely order my future filters here! Thank you
Replace your LG side-by-side refrigerator’s water filter with the LT500P. It’s a short twist-in cartridge rated for 6 months or 500 gallons, sold as a 1, 2 or 3 pack with free shipping in the USA. Not sure it’s the right size? Check the compatibility section below or contact our team with your model number.
The LG LT500P filters the water and ice from your fridge dispenser. Its LG part number is 5231JA2002A, also listed as ADQ72910901. Equivalent identifiers you may see include AQF-LT500P, WD-LT500P and WF-LT500P. If your fridge or old filter shows any of these, this is the filter you need.
Does the LT500P fit my refrigerator? It’s made for select LG side-by-side refrigerators that use the LT500P. Examples include models in the LSC23924 and LSC26905 families (various finishes). This is a partial list.
Check the filter size too. Some model numbers show up in lists for more than one LG filter, so don’t rely on a model list alone:

If your old filter is long and round, you probably need the LT600P. Newer LG models often use the LT1000P instead. All LG filters we carry are in the LG refrigerator water filters collection.

Tool-free replacement, usually a few minutes.
Matched fit for LG fridges designed for the LT500P.
Long capacity: up to 6 months or 500 gallons.
Multi-packs so the next change is ready on the shelf.
The LT500P is certified to NSF/ANSI Standard 42, which covers chlorine taste and odor and particulates. Retailer listings also describe reduced dirt and rust particles. It is not certified for health-related contaminants such as lead, and it doesn’t soften water or remove scale. For background, see our article on whether refrigerator water filters are good.
Steps vary slightly by model, so check your manual too.
Locate the old filter inside the fridge.
Pivot it downward and remove it.
Align the tabs on the new filter with the inserts in the holder.
Push the filter in until it locks.
Run water through the dispenser for about 5 minutes to flush the filter.
Reset the filter indicator (see your manual).
To dispose of the old cartridge, see our guide to recycling refrigerator water filters.
Replace every 6 months or after 500 gallons, whichever comes first, or sooner if:
the filter light comes on
flow slows noticeably
water or ice tastes or smells off

Will the LT500P fit my LG refrigerator?
It fits select LG side-by-side models designed for it. Check your manual and compare your old filter’s size (short for the LT500P), or send us your model number.
What does the LT500P replace?
It’s the same filter as 5231JA2002A and ADQ72910901. AQF-LT500P, WD-LT500P and WF-LT500P are equivalent codes.
How long does it last?
6 months or 500 gallons, whichever comes first.
How do I install it?
Pivot the old filter down and out. Align the tabs on the new one, push it in to lock, then flush for about 5 minutes.
What does it filter?
Chlorine taste and odor and particulates, per NSF/ANSI 42.
Does it remove lead or other health contaminants?
It isn’t certified for them. Use a filter certified to the relevant standard if that matters to you.
LT500P or LT600P: how do I tell?
Compare sizes. The LT500P is short; the LT600P is a long cartridge. Your manual confirms the right one.
Do I need to reset the filter light?
Yes, on models with an indicator. Check your manual for the reset steps.
Why is my water cloudy after replacing it?
Trapped air can cause that at first. Run water through the dispenser for a few minutes.
