LG states the filter reduces 99.99% of cysts, 99% of asbestos, and nearly all lead, mercury and benzene. Reductions apply under NSF test conditions. This filter does not make unsafe water safe. How to Install the LG LT1000P Filter

Remove the top shelf below the filter if it’s in the highest position.
Pinch the sides to open the filter cover.
Pull the old filter down and turn it counterclockwise to remove it.
Remove the protective covers from the new filter’s O-rings.
With the tabs horizontal, push the filter into the housing and turn it clockwise until it stops.
Close the cover.
Dispense about 2.5 gallons (about 5 minutes) to clear air and carbon fines.
Press and hold the Water Filter button for 3 seconds to reset the indicator.

Tip: if it feels stiff, make sure the filter is fully rotated before pulling or pushing. Air bubbles or cloudiness at first are normal. Keep flushing. If black specks or leaks persist, contact us.

When Should You Replace the LG LT1000P Filter?

Replace it about every 6 months or after 200 gallons, whichever comes first. Replace it sooner if:

Water flow slows
Taste or odor returns
The filter indicator light comes on
